Although you are undoubtedly accustomed to the betrothal of young couples, it is just as exciting to be there when two “ballies” get together to confirm their commitment to one another.
You are all members of our “inner circle” and we appreciate your joining us, despite the distances from your comfort zones.
Why the Karoo?
The silence
is deafening
Well, we have both visited many places in the world, but nowhere seems as peaceful as this. The silence is deafening, the stars in the sky are spectacular, the people are humbly welcoming, the footpaths are left unspoilt… one feels as though this is where the word “respect” originated.
Kath and I experienced this on a road trip several years ago and feel that it is apt that we celebrate our wedding in this beautiful place.
We met at a crossroads in our lives and I have been frequently reminded by a close friend that we are both very “lucky!”. We appreciate that to be with us there will be a lot of “rubber on the road”, sacrifices and compromises made. But we are confident that the accommodation, experiences and lamb chops will be worthwhile! We are, however, blessed that you will be with us on this special weekend.

Although Kath and I cannot claim to have any connection with Prince Albert at all, it is interesting to read the history of this small remote town.
Tucked beneath the Swartberg Mountains, Prince Albert is a charming little Karoo town with a history dating back to 1762. It was later named after Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert.
Known for its beautiful old buildings, peaceful streets, flowing water furrows and wide-open landscapes, the town has a wonderfully relaxed feel. We’re so excited to share this special corner of South Africa with you.
